Well first post more info like your server.cfg & maprotation.cfg, otherwise people can't really tell what the problem is.

Yes that's me but I only post there a lot. I was under the impression you thought I'm from the ETPro team which - seeing that I can't code even to save my own life - isn't the case ;-).

Er, not quite, it's more like: Ramon votes to kick deej - Ramon switches team while his vote is in progress - deej gets kicked right away. Try out, its a funny feature indeed. :) You'll remember that similar bug that was fixed by you guys at etpro that worked when voters went spec after casting a v...

As you are talking about vote-kick bugs, here's one more, dunno if it has been fixed yet: if someone calls a kick-vote and switches sides while the vote is in progress, the vote passes immediately. Tested on an etpro-jumpserver, but I don't know if it's mod-specific or if it can be fixed by a mod. ...

but after ive put it on my server all i need is the "omnibot" folder with the pk3 in my fast redirect right to get it working ??? why do you want the omnibot.pk3? You're using jaymod. Just put the "omni-bot" (WITH HYPHEN) folder in your root et dir, add set g_omnibotpath <path to omnibot> to server...

That's what the -m parameter does for su.

su gamed -m -c etded.x86 will run etded as gamed while gamed has /sbin/nologin as shell.

I'll think about putting in an optional setting which would guard against starts by an incorrect user, and/or perform a convenient su if run as root (ie: from system startup as if placed in /etc/init.d structure). That might help a lot of people. That sounds like a very good plan. People will often...

wouldnt it default to whoever was calling it without all the su stuff? I dont personally log in from anywhere but my own lan so most of this is moot. I dont run telnet and ssh ports arent even open to the outside. So if theres an exploit found at some point, yer saying by running it as anyone but a...

The script does not change the UID or EUID of the calling user, it only identifies the EUID of the calling process and uses it to limit pgrep scope. In other words, don't run it as root but chown it to the user you wish it to be run as? Or use su -c <script> <user_to_run_script_as> if you desperate...

nice--- however I think Im not doing it right-- /etc/rc.d/init.d/serverctl: line 60: EUID: readonly variable Dang I have to stop hitting EDIT instead of QUOTE. Yeah EUID turns out to be protected (read-only) on linux distros. FreeBSD didn't complain. Anyways, the script has been changed/updated acc...

That sounds like a bad ass script Mr. difficult name! Anyway I'm a big fan of screen since I want to do stuff in the console literally. It's a professional habit ;-). Here's a simple start / stop / restart script we use. It does check for PIDs so you could cron it, but as I write below we have a bet...

Im a bit curious here , why the use of screen? Is it because a lot of server hosts don't give real shell access, but something more along the lines of webmin or usermin? I'm reasonably sure it would work without it, but thats me. Screen is just a way of making the server run in - well - another scr...

Very nice script but the While [ 1 ] loop in etded_start does confuse me. Having this in means you should run your script with the & parameter attached (e.g. ./startmyserver &) to put the script in the background, otherwise you'll never get your command prompt back. This is why tjw (etpub developer)...
