Re: Landmines & Shrubbot commands

Still doesn't work very strange! And another question, where to get fueldump with CP spawn? And battery with back plant? Thx! If I am not mistaken those are entirely handled via map scripts, which should come with your Jaymod installation by default. You might need to tweak some settings though, ju...

Re: Incorrect scors at map end

I might be totally wrong here, but I think we used to have this problem with our servers as well.
I think it was because we disabled the warmup time. Try setting a warmup of like 4 or 5 seconds,
that should reset all scores, if I am not mistaken.

Re: EvenBalance PB support for ET ended (and consequences)

I don't think that what PB offered was any good. First of all i could have got a new GUID simply by running a command in the game console. The second thing is/was that the server trusts the client with the GUID calculation, which makes spoofing GUIDs possible with just a few lines of code. That's wh...

Re: EvenBalance PB support for ET ended (and consequences)

The way I understand things, when a client generates a key pair, he can freely distribute the public key, so that anybody can encrypt messages with it. However, only the private key can be used for decryption. So, basically, the client sends his public key and the server generates a challenge that c...

Re: EvenBalance PB support for ET ended (and consequences)

Public/private key couldn't work. That setup is to establish trust between two trustworthy parties. In ET's case, the client can not be trusted at all and there is no authority Then I don't see why anyone would use public/private keys. I thought it might work like this: the client sends his public ...

There are at least 3 solutions listed in that topic on splatterladder:

I'm not too much into that sort of things, but i guess something based on public/private keys should do the trick.

Re: Landmines & Shrubbot commands

This is the most recent documentation of Jaymod (mirrored the file on my server).
http://85.214.159.249/wolfet/jaymod.pdf

You'll find all the commands in there and also how to disable landmine triggering for your team mates.

Re: EvenBalance PB support for ET ended (and consequences)

I'd rather see a solution that is not bound to Enhanced Mod.
Being into that sort of stuff, too, I highly respect his work, but it just doesn't really fit with my understanding of a proper fix.

Re: Concerning LUA support

I meant the engine for both client and server (et.exe/etded.exe) would need to compile for 64bit targets and I'm really not sure if that would work at all.

Re: Concerning LUA support

I'm running several game servers on a 64bit Ubuntu machine without any problems. All it needs are 32bit libraries for compatibility. You might need to install something like that on your Windows machine, too, but to be honest, I have no idea if there is anything like that for Windows. Also: making 6...

Re: EvenBalance PB support for ET ended (and consequences)

1. Security flaw through which you can crash the server. I'm not quite sure what kind of flaw you are talking about, but the 'big' one I know is easily fixed. The one that comes with Palehook, I think. 2. Ban the player without GUID and it bans other player too. I have never experienced that, I tho...

I'm rather sure it's .6b only.
Older clients won't understand the redirect message.

Re: help me please,

If i am not mistaken ET 2.60b features this behaviour by default.
Just set the server full message to:
ET://your.server.ip.here
That should redirect .6b clients to the specified server. It might not work at all,
but it's something like that. If it doesn't work, you might need to search on Google.

Re: EvenBalance PB support for ET ended (and consequences)

I have never been a fan of PB's GUID system either. It's ridiculously easy to circumvent. The spoofing has been talked about (more or less) here already: http://jaymod.clanfu.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=9483 However, they never really came up with a solution, but only said Enhanced Mod would fix ...
