!BANUSER

Post by Sippenhaft » Sun Sep 11, 2011 11:45 am

When you use the ban user command, shouldnt it ban the guid, IP, and MAC addy?

We had a player get banned, and 6 days later was able to return and connect....although he was then banned again...

It does, but none of these can't be changed, and they are also likely to change without user interaction from time to time, due to the way each of them work.

I'm not quite sure as to how Jaymod handles this exactly, but it might be possible that Jaybird did not include IP checking in the banning system, since it's supported out of the box (if i am not mistaken).
You can use

Code: Select all

/rcon addip <mask>
or set the g_banIps cvar accordingly.
Also, if you are running on a dedicated machine you can use your firewall (on linux probably iptables) to ban him.

Other than that i can only guess why the ban would not work. Sorry.

I was not able to find that setting in the old or new documentation.

Jaybird, can you shed any light on this discussion?

g_banIps is a cvar present in stock etmain, so i suppose it's used by Jaymod as well.

I've never actually tried it, but the settings and commands are around, so i suppose they should work.

This is not about WolfET, but Q3, however they're basically the same, from a technical point of view.

The IP address is based in the US.

All going good and waiting for next jaymod release! Good to see you again buddy!

We have one nasty swedish cheater who can even join with same IP.. eventually i use pb_sv_banmask IP to keep him out. I wish there would be LUA so we can ban few subnet and whitelist part of that subnets...

Have you checked the page posted by Ligustah, you can ban subnets using that information.

hrm i haven't check that page.. link please?

I normally ban subnets using pb_sv_banmask. Any other method to do subnet bans instead of using IP tables, I am interested!

Thank you!
